Google asked us to reimagine the hub for Google Messages on Android.com as a one-stop shop for everything.
Our main goal was to shift the perception of Google Messages to make it more engaging and appealing, while increasing overall connectivity to the Google brand with a focus on showcasing the latest in AI, safety, and ecosystem innovations.
I was privileged to lead the design, motion and implementation for all the animations needed for the new website
We wanted the animations to set the energy and mood for the experience. They had to be playful and generate excitement, we want users to pick Messages because it’s cool on it’s own, not because it’s a default app.
We needed to address the primary barrier to switching, which is iMessage’s dominance. Additionally, we needed to demonstrate the appeal and value of Google Messages and all it’s new features.
